thanks for all the responces. Im fairly new to all this and just dont want to wake up next week thinking i should have gotten something else without checking first. Im not that up to date on all the "new" features that receivers are offering now, but im also not willing to shell out top dollor either.
Ive checked around in regards to the yamaha rxv1700 and the Pioneer Elite VSX-82TXS. I can get either one for the same price used.
Between the two, which one would you guys choose for what reasons? I know the yammy has something like 22 dsp's, but if its anything like my old pro logic receiver i usually only used one or two of them.
Not sure where you're going to get the Pioneer unit, but make sure you confirm that it has a LFE bug fixed. 82TXS (two years ago now?) definitely had a bug that could not boost LFE.
