Thanks for the replies, gents. Yep - I think it is cooked. After another day of messing with it, I find that the back plate builds up significant heat when the sub is idle. If I give it a signal the heat subsides, but the smell of melting electronics emerges.

I'm going to call them tonight. And while I'm at it, I may as well send back the amp for my Audiobytes. The L and R channels are wired backwards, which I have just accepted up until now.

This is high end stuff, right? I've either been very unlucky, or somebody is sleeping in the QC office at Axiom.
