The signal is the signal, it's coming across as 1080i, it doesn't matter what the supports. In fact the Kuro's have excellent de-interlacers, but they can only work with what they're given. CSI at 1080i turns into a very nice stable picture. But that's because it was shot on film. Live sports are shot with video, and that doesn't de-interlace cleanly.
