I own a VP180-v3 and I don't think that I miss anything over a v4. But then as I have never really tried them side by side it's a tough one to call.

There have been some reviews that I wonder if they are trying to get their money worth out of an online thesaurus by saying big words or just trying to sound smarter than the average reader.

The review at least gives some of the technical side to the speaker that is very much lacking in most. I'm glad to know that the speaker coil baskets are actually cast rather than stamped metal.

I appreciate that at least one of the test disks used was one that I own and could try it out to see how well it sounds. In fact, I am sort of doing the opposite by keeping the speakers the same, but changing the receiver for a new pre-amp/amp combo. it would be interesting to see how it sounds and if it sounds better with the new equipment over the old.
