One other thing about the tweeter positioned at ear height or slightly above to coincide with the strip between the tweeter and the woofer or mid. The soundstage is too high. By that I mean it floats above the ground too much. So two things when the tweeter isn't below ear height: 1. Soundstage is too high and the soundstage is not as 3D from front to back.

I do accept the fidelity, through test instrumentation, is affected. I have never witnessed it myself though. Keep in mind, I am more about soundstage and imaging rather than fidelity. That may not be the case with everyone. Although, anecdotally through the get-togethers I've had, it's always the soundstage and imaging that wows listeners. I do find there is a minimum fidelity I need though or I get twitchy. For me, the M3s or M50s don't provide that minimum fidelity but the M2s and M5s do.
