mine is an original model. got mine working though only through ethernet cable being in play. after 20 minutes it started to emit a strange odor and the panel door on the upper left side of the main panel door (when turned upside down was very warm to the touch. shut it all down and opened it up. it appears to be a battery or some power supply ( as I have not touched this thing in 4+ years I can't remember what the battery looks like and it looks like its leaking. It well could be the battery as the unit still powers up without it being attached. Stinks inside the cavity though.
