Yep, USC's offense was really inconsistent, but their defense--holy $%#@! The reason Kal's stats were so good was because of the style of offense it employed, using quick dink-and-dunk passes of about 3-9 yards OVER and OVER and OVER again. It was a good gamble, but Pete Carroll had that figured out all the way. Just don't give up the big play and let them shrink the field so that the secondary has an easier and easier time disrupting the passing routes. Tedford made a mistake never going for the deep ball. And that final goal line stand was one for the ages. 'SC defense rules.
