When you say "doing all the work" are you talking about the dialog of movies, which is normal, the center pretty much does most of the dialog? When in surround modes, you can hit the big circle button on the remote, and it will cycle on your screen the levels that were set for each speaker. I think mine are +6.5 db's for the right/left, +7.5db's for the center, 0db's for the sub, +7db left surround, and +6db for my right (it is a little closer).
The only thing I noticed when turning on Room EQ in Normal mode, was the M60's seemed to sound more mid-rangey (is that a word?)
