Brady, why I even mentioned the possibility to Tom was that since auto-calibration or equalization can't of course put stereo CD sound into the center speaker, Randy and I were searching for some explanation. At this point it's still unknown. The center width control refers to the use of DPLII or DPLIIx to vary the amount of source material appearing in the stereo channels in similar amounts which gets steered to the center speaker instead of forming a "phantom" center. At one extreme it all gets steered to the center speaker; at the other it all stays in the mains and the center speaker remains silent. This is described beginning on p.70 of the manual.
