J&R is selling the HK 7300 for $1300 and they are an authorized online dealer for HK.

I also noticed J&R offers an extended warantee option for about $60. I wonder if that would cover a Canadian purchased product.
But as you said, without a warantee and at something like a $1200-1400 savings, even if you had to pay for a repair you'd likely still be way ahead.
By the way, the 7300 looks like one bitchin receiver.
