Welp, I got my QS8s and VP150 in last night. Last week I received a pair of M60Tis and an AVR525. These speakers are simply amazing. I watched some of Gladiator and was just astonished by the sound coming from those speakers. I started watching the beach scene of Saving Private Ryan, and the people below me started banging on their ceiling! And I havent even purchased a subwoofer yet! Needless to say, I did have it cranked up a little [grin]. I am moving to another apartment in a couple months, and will request a first floor apartment. I think Ill wait to order the VTF-2 then...But now, I dont really need it. Those M60s more than make up for not having a sub.

you have NO idea what an HSU sub will do for you... no clue whatsoever... your windows will rattle, and i'm not kidding. You ain't heard bass yet, my friend!

I agree with Ravi. You have not heard how the balls of fire hit the trees (Gladiator) and how the tanks roared and fired (Private Ryan). You will hear these with a sub although you may also hear your neighbors knocking at your door :-)

Yep...the Hsu will change your movie watching life.

Cannibal - now that I have a chance, I must say, get the VTF 3

Yes the VTF3 is the better sub, but if he's in an apartment and not in a really large room it's overkill. I have the VTF-2 in a pretty large room, and it's quite impressive. Curtis has been over and he as suprised himself. (He has the VTF-3)

yeah...spiff is right, unless you want clean bass to 16-18hz, in a smaller room, the VTF-2 is more than adequate, and can change your neighbors' lifestyle too.

I've got to chime in and say that since I'm not using a sub with my 60's, I've got the low effects switch on my processor to make sure that the bass is channeled through the speakers, opposed to going to a non-existant sub. I am blown away by the bass from these things in this mode when I'm watching a DVD. Most impressive so far has been the new James Bond "Die Another Day" DVD. The incredible sound (and bass) I was getting actually made that movie tollerable! If I added a sub in my apartment, I'd be evicted quicker than you can say "my ears are bleeding."

Yeah...the M60's have VERY impressive bass output. If you don't have, or can't have a sub, you're in luck with the M60's. BUT - adding a sub to the M60's is really going to rock your movie watching world.

From the time I got my Axiom set up until my eventual departure from apartment living all together (3 months or so I think), I had 3 noise violations and was one away from eviction.
