So you didn't get the option to switch to dlink3? You do actually have to change the setting; it retains denon link 2 as a possibility on the setup page.

John it does seem strange, but to my knowledge I did nothing different after updating the player.
Ken, on the 3808s menu it just says Denon link as an assign option, I remember my old Denon 3805 used to specify it as Denon link 2 in the menu. I'll probably give it one more shot before I head home tomorrow.
A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.

Guys, I have to apologize for being a frickin idiot. After reading Ken's comment So you didn't get the option to switch to dlink3? I realized I hadn't gone back into the 3910s menu. Well whaddya know there is my option for Denon link3, now everything is working as it should I'm still not sure why the analog started working after the update. But once again I am eternally grateful to you guys for solving this for me. It's nice to know I've got somewhere to go for those audio emergencies.
