I am considering purchasing some kind of tilt bracket for my QS8's as well. They are my side surrounds, but I have them placed on the rear wall facing forward b/c I have a brick fireplace on one side and no wall on the other. My couch is a few inches off of the back wall... I basically had the option of mounting on the ceiling or mounting on the back wall and facing forward. All I had was the T bracket so I went with the second option. They are about 5.5 feet off the ground and sound pretty good, but I think if I angle them in toward the couch they would sound better...
What do you guys think?

Given the nature of the QS design, I am surprised so many are looking at angling them. I can see if you have a space issue above the top and tilting gains some clearance for the driver. But I don't see how aiming a QS would do much, as their is no focal point to speak of. What am I missing here? Maybe I need to do this as well.

hmmm, that one comes with the 1/4-20 shaft, which would match the Axiom female threads...I'm just worried that when tilted it won't hold position from the weight of the Qs8's... I remember his pics and he had them tilted.

It is just to give the top driver room to breath as we are looking at only 3-4 inches of clearance on top, the tilt allow a little more room.

In my case, the tweeters are 7ft off the ground and shooting over the heads of the listeners left/right, tilting them down slightly should help direct the enveloped sound more downward. Often I can't even hear my rears or sides.

Often I can't even hear my rears or sides. I have the same problem... I was thinking that if I angled them in toward the couch a touch, and angled the inner most tweeter down a bit this would really improve things. Maybe I will give it a shot and see. I already have them placed at studs with the T-bracket so it should be pretty easy to swap them out for the axiom FMB (or whatever other bracket I end up using).

I guess I just realized that the axiom QS brackets only provide a couple of inches of clearance from the wall... so I wouldn't really be able to tilt them in that much, if at all. Also, if I tilted one tweeter down toward the couch some, the bottom driver would then be aimed away from the listening area.
Maybe I should try the QS stands, or maybe I should just live with it the way it is until I buy a house hopefully within the next year. I really don't want to bring the speakers down as low as the stands would.

You guys could turn up the surrounds a couple db like what happens to the center channel often.
I am surprised you say you can't hear your surrounds sometimes Rnady, is that due to the fact you are expecting more from them than what is actually in the sound mix?

I think part of the problem is they might be to close to the seats for the 7ft height location. I know my rear Q's are not far enough back, I'm still kicking myself for the installation. When your sitting in the back row, they are only about 1ft behind and 7ft off the ground. I do hear them, I just think I'm missing something.

Mine are 7ft high and 12 to 15 inches behind the seating positions (direct distance about 6 ft to ears) and they do a great job. Try some M80 back there, I hear people like those.
