Trevor, I'm doing two things: 1) setting up some new speakers to listen to ... for enjoyment and testing 2) getting a general sense of the main placement so I can think about screen size and finalize surround placement. I have an opportunity to verify where the in-wall surround wiring goes before closing in the walls ... why not take it.

I remember when I was creative with my original sliders. I cut Axiom cardboard into perfect trapezoidal rectangles and slid it under the outriggers. Actually that was creative ... I'll go with your slider solution once I'm off concrete ... it's simpler and easier to do. Anyway I wanted to setup now ... didn't want to wait on stuff to arrive.

Pop a balloon. You are nowhere near agonizing over placement yet. Don't know what that would buy me at this stage in the game. I'll get the RT-whatever when I have real walls.

rrlev, i'm really looking forward to your in room pics and feedback on the actives. That speaker is gorgeous. I recall you getting some damaged speakers many months ago, are these the replacements? These seem to have a much better finish. Great job selecting them!
Love to see your room pics once you get things setup.

Definitely Not high gloss. It looks like a semi .... I was going for a satin finish to keep reflections down but this is good.

I have a set of black speakers with a piano finish. Down rite PITA to keep them shiny. Just glancing at them creates a blemish..... Never again. I like the finish on yours rrlev. Looks like a great compromise to achieve what your goals are. I'm looking forward to seeing your "HT build" thread....with progress pics!

I can only guess at the stain. I received two samples ... natural and something I referred to as “red” but really have no idea since it was unmarked
