Watched. Exactly why I dont bother with it with setups. Maybe if it was my house with unlimited time..... Kinda clunky.

I don't want to waste my life away performance tuning. I want to waste my life away listening.

Mojo, i think you need to look back on the 5000+ posts where your home tweaking consumed far more time than this 2 hour Audioholics video.

I plan on watching this through to see what they say and see if there's anything different that i've done. There are a few tools in the Audyssey setup. I'll have some questions looking for answers even based on a comment i just saw in the thread below the video for example:
"These are my findings relevant to this video:
Switching to 'FLAT' will ignore a frequency wall/cut-off or custom curve set in the Audyssey app so 'REFERENCE' has to be used if you wish to use anything but the full frequency EQ."
I saw the options for this in the menu and did not yet have a definition or explanation for them. I haven't looked them up in the manual yet.

Also just got LARSA this morning.

Hoping after i get some dinner in the slow cooker that i can get back to tinkering with the system this afternoon.

It's all Axiom's fault. If I had received v4 back in 2007, my tweaking would have been minimized. However, looking at it a different way, I would not have known how good v4 is without having heard all those speakers over the last 35+ years. I suppose it's something like water coloring. You can't possibly know how satisfying good paper, paints and brushes are until you try the ones from Walmart.

So I bought and used to audyssey app. Huge improvement due to the extra options and curve adjustments you can make. Definitely worth the 19.99.

So far i agree, but only because the app worked for me. Many people complained they couldn't get it to connect, etc. and then will have paid money for junk.
If it works, it works quite well for tweaking.

Definitely suggest watching through that video Trevor posted. Yes it's 2 hours though some parts where Gene is giving his two cents you can skip ahead 10 or 20 seconds and the second hour is them mostly answering questions from the 'live' audience recorded at the time (the first hour is them going through their suggestions for using Audyssey and how to). Generally the info they post on what to turn on, how to take measurements, etc. is all worthwhile. There's alot more understanding of each of the options now and what they do.
I'll be looking at some videos on LARSA after so that first, i'll setup the Denon again with Audyssey with the list of options used (e.g. using Flat vs Reference vs..).
Check results. See if anything looks wonky (in the video they talk about Audyssey setting the sub output too low).
Then run LARSA with Audyssey calibration off then on to take room measurements.

I
Yeah I listened to it while I was working today. Had some very good tips for getting audyssey dialed in better. Noticed an immediate improvement. It set all of my speakers to small. Crossed over fronts and center at 40 and surrounds to 80. I limited the correction to 300hz and turned off the setting that causes the 3db drop off at 2k.
