Well, bad jokes are better than no jokes at all. Or perhaps bad jokes ARE no jokes. I'll study this and get back to you.

most electronics, woofers, tweeters, and other parts are NOT made in native America or Canida. Even the most expensive Flat Panel/HDTV at your local BestBuy or Cicuit City are made in China. If you think Axiom's drivers are inferior then you are wrong, I'm willing to bet most comparable brand like B&W, Paradigm, PSB, and other companies also have their woofers and tweeters made in China or Malaysia.

I understand your concern, I to posted the same question a few months ago, but purchasing these speakers was the best thing I could have done. My brother in law runs a local professional recording studio, and he loves B&W's, but once he listened to my setup, and I told him what they cost, he is having second doubts on my he spent so much on his configuration.

Check out this link below, it is from Chesseroo, one of our members, he recently went on a plant tour. It is possible the woofers and tweeters are manufactured elsewhere, like most speaker mfg's, but all mfg/testing/research and specification requirments are done at Axiom.

Just a quick note on Paradigm, taken from a Stereophile review...

so you'd think they would sound a little better for the price they are charging for 'em?

Touché... and to think, I'm sitting in my living room listening to Diana Krall's "The Girl in the Other Room" on my Studio 60's thinking how amazing it sounds. Of course, I'm listening to it on a little Cayin tube amp, not a crappy HT receiver... maybe that the difference ;o)

i dont question the fact that paradigms sound good, i auditioned them before i bought axioms. my point was, they are entirely too dang expensive.

i would dare to guess that a pair of axiom M60's would sound just as good as those studio 60's, at about 50%-70% less..

now THATS a difference. but, if you are the type of guy with money to burn, then more power to ya, cause i aint!

Actually, that's the beauty of living in Canada. So many great Canadian speaker manufacturers here, so prices are fantastic. I picked up my Studio 60s for < the Axiom M60's would have been ($1,000 CAD taxes in).

Listen to your music, instead of your equipment. If they sound good, reliable, and affortable, then who care if they were made in Africa or Thailand? Axiom has been in business for awhile and how often do you hear people complaint about their woofer or tweeter being burned out or blown? seldom. Most of the time those accidents were cause by user error or hardcore abuse anyway, shipping damaged doesn't count either. Sometime these folks really crack me up when they try to avoid buying audio gears made in 3rd world country, but atleast 50% of their houseware and electronic are made in China!! Turn around your computer monitor, mouse, or the keyboard you're using now, and look for the label. That's right...MADE IN CHINA!! LOL :-)
