It's probably easier to EQ the 60s to behave like 50s than it is to EQ the 50s to behave like 60s, for what it's worth. Good call on the VP150 -- it's just more versatile with no real downside other than size. There's no "downside" to M60s either unless you listen more to the radio than to good recordings.

For some reason I find Q107 sounds really good late at night but pretty dead during the day. A few people have suggested that the stations apply more compression during the day to support car radio listeners, then expand the dynamic range out at night when people are listening on better systems and on headphones. No idea if this is the case for the mighty 'Q.

Avdude, if you want to stop by some time I can demo 60s vs. 40s for you. The 50s sound kinda half way between the two, predictably. I'm just north of Mosport racetrack.

Only problem is that radio & TV reception is sucky up here so you'll either need to bring recordings you know or tape some Q107 before you come over
