I'm using a low end Yamaha HTR 6030 with a pair of M2s and it sounds great. The only DSP I ever use is "Music Enhancer" on streaming internet radio (usually 128k)which works quite nicely (I think it just exaggerates certain freqs to make it sound fuller).

In a typical Japanese urban apartment there is no way you are going to be using more than 95 watts of power. Besides, 110w is way less than 1dB more anyway.
