I thought they were pretty easy to align, and got great results. I just measured up from the floor how high i wanted, held the bracket up and placed a level on the top of the "T". I got my all purpose sharpie (god, i love those things) and completely colored in the holes I wanted to mount it by. I only used 3 anchors, the ones on each side of the top of the "T" and the one at the bottom. They are up perfectly straight, and very secure. I think the achors I used were rated at 20 lbs...so I think 3 of them can hold up this small of a speaker with no issues.
It's a great SIMPLE bracket.
