2x6, just dry-fit the speakers onto the brackets BEFORE you mount the brackets on the wall. AND keep track of which bracket goes with which speaker. You'll probably be fine, but mine had an obvious problem.

They sound absolutely amazing. Full, rich, diffuse. I've started listening to regular old TV in 5-channel stereo. Very satisfying.
