I'll assume by your reference to "3.1" that you are planning to add a subwoofer. If that's the case, the Millennia M22ti's on stands will deliver the smoothest and most spacious sound for your money. Keep in mind that the M22's bass remains solid to 40 Hz, and in the interim it accepts 2 or 3 dB of bass boost with ease, but eventually you'll need to add a sub if you're interested in filling that large a space with a nice foundation of deep bass.
