Hi,
I have a firend who also uses the Marantz SR5005 as a preamp/processor and it does the same thing. The remedy was to turn on the Marantz first. However, I recently installed a trigger on for his power amp which is initiated by powering the Marantz and it works without inducing the "POP" irritating noise.
