Yeah, that's a very common problem in almost every town in the US -- Front projectors are still presented as the high-end, luxury item in most B&M stores, which is NOT true at all. I picked up my Yamaha at about US$2800 in Tokyo. The reality is, with FP you can get bigger, more film-like, and more enjoyable image at a cost substantially lower than the latest RPTV's and plasmas, AS LONG AS you have at least some degree of ambient light control.
