Great writeup.

It's not just you feeling awkward after picking up a QS speaker. Not sure about the QS4's, but certainly picking up a QS8 is pretty disconcerting until you remember that it is OK to put it down on its back.

If you remember the old "Operation" game, try picking up one of the QS's, taking off the bottom grill, and then balancing it on a couple of soup cans without anything touching that shouldn't.
