Although I didn't do a direct comparison, I did own both the m50 and m60's. I started with the 50's, and liked them so much that I was infected with upgradeitis and then went for the 60's within the 30 day window. Like everyone else says, the extra midrange does bring the speaker "out front" more for both music and theater. It really does depend on your application, as Axiom had recommended that I go with the 50's for my mostly home theater application. I found myself getting back into my old cd collection, so I went with the upgrade to m60. It is an incidious disease this upgradeitis...
