I hooked up my Denon 3805 to the M60's, VP150, QS8's and SVS PB2-ISD. Since there were speakers in the ceiling and the Denon has 7.1, I hooked the ceiling speakers as the rear surround. The ceiling is 12 ft.

I hooked the Denon mic for calibration, and it did not pick up the ceiling speakers. I am assuming the 12 ft. and the fact they are not "good" speakers had something to do with it. Also, the room is medium and the 5.1 sounds great.

I could
1.)Manually set the Denon to 7.1
2.)Set it to 5.1 and take the rears to the M60's for bi amping.

Any suggestions? Since the Denon is pretty good on the power side, would I really notice that much improvement in the bi amping?
