Whip, your speaker list looks great, although it wouldn't be out of line to consider QSs as surrounds, as Chess mentioned.

On the player; yes definitely a combined CD/DVD player should be fine, they're designed with dual lasers to play both optimally. Again as Chess mentioned don't overlook the convenience of a multi-disc player. The sound quality is just as good as single disc models.
