mreed, your listener "fatigue" comment reminded me that I too used to experience that when listening to my old Bose system at moderately loud levels for more than 10 minutes or so. I currently have an HK3480 (120wpc) with m60's and I couldn't be happier. No fatigue whatsoever. I've played them very loud for long periods of time and they always sound great.
I'm also impressed that late at night when the family is asleep, I can listen at very low levels (so I don't wake them) and they still sound wonderful. I don't think you'll be disapointed with either the m60's or m80's and a decent receiver. Most people are very happy with their decision to purchase axioms and their only regret is usually why they waited so long!
