Would I be better off just getting the vertical version then if it does work out then just place it on its side??
Dyna - that's what I'd recommend. The only difference of vertical versus horizontal is where they put the screw holes for the feet and which direction the Axiom logo faces on the grill.
When I ordered my first 600 I ordered horizontal, but the location I had in mind didn't work out (didn't sound or look good), and I've had it standing up ever since. It definitely takes up significantly less space standing.
