So we've got two Axiom-group no-no's in one post.

1) The amps need to break-in to sound their best.

2) The amps made your system sound different.

Welcome to the amps-matter club. ;\)

Sorry to hear about your Emotiva experience. I've had it both ways with Emotiva.

On the one hand, my LPA-1 has been flawless for several years now. Handles my M80's with ease. Really great purchase that I've never regretted.

And on the other hand, I returned the LMC-1 prepro for a refund. Way too many bugs and overall, too "quirky" for me.

At least they did the right thing and gave you your money back. Perhaps the there's more to the quick discontinuation of the RPA series than they're letting on to. I still don't buy the low-impediance M80's BS from them. Even their flagship MPS-1/2 had problems driving Randy's M80's. And the MPS-1/2 is supposed to be stable down to 2-ohm loads. My LPA-1 is supposedly "only" stable to 4-ohms, yet it drives my M80's to ear-splitting levels without incident. So

Yea Randy, I leave mine on 24/7 per Klaus. As to the breakin time, it was so funny when I asked Klaus...

"so Klaus, are they gonna blow me away right out of the box?"

Klaus answered "NO! They will sound like sh*T right out of the box"

That floored me, then he went on to explain they get better and better with time. Personally, I thought they sounded great out of the box. I have 140 hours on them. I don't know if it's me or the amps, but today I put in Alan Parsons Project Essentials CD and it was just jaw dropping already. I can't imagine them getting better.

It's strange, they are so different from the RPA-2. The other day I was just doing some casual listening (can't remember what was playing) when I thought I heard someone tapping on the window next to my couch. I actually got up and walked over to it and realized it was the freakin CD that was playing. It was awesome! The sound was everywhere, yet only playing from my M80's. \:\)
