From the "simpler" to the "more complicated"...
I have an
Ergotron articulating arm mount for my monitor at the office. I love that thing. Allows me to adjust height, tilt, rotation, etc. really easily. I'm not sure if them make one with enough travel for your use. But I was thinking you could use something like that to have it right in front of you sometimes and then push it up out of the way when you needed to get at all those buttons.
I know - more expensive and more complicated = Suggestion Fail.
I think you should be wearing a lab coat in that picture.
