Yes, I'm still using my 2006 Panasonic projector, on its second lamp. Max res is 720p or 1080i, but that's what DirecTV's "HD" is, or at least has been (haven't checked lately) unless you are doing certain PPVs, so I haven't an urgent need to upgrade. I guess blu rays would look better on a new projector, but Gail and I had this conversation and her vote is for new living room furniture first.
Turns out we don't need a new bulb. Diagnosis: user error. Worked fine for me when I got home.
