ratpack, considering the price difference of the 4806 and the 4600....I can't imagine why it shouldn't be better.

AS for the bright comment, that is why I mentioned the eq. I am convinced that 80% of the people I read about on forums have no idea what to do with an EQ. And the autosetup programs that adjust the eq for you can be just as bad.

This particular person had studio 100's. The Yamaha can be bright if you start cranking the highs through tone controls and the eq, but that is what is an eq is supposed to do...allow you to have that freedom to change things if you want it. If you don't want it bright...turn it off and leave tone controls on flat. Not rocket science and I'm sure you'll be smart enough to figure that out but I am surprised at how many people on forums are not.
