My monitor is 32". I had 7 monitors that I was evaluating for that space (yes, I bought them all, set them up, auditioned them and returned 6). Of these 7, 3 were 42" to 46". I and others felt that the picture was not clear enough with these larger sets.
I am very happy with this size and the clarity is simply outstanding. Note too that the mount allows me to pull the monitor 20" away from the wall. That would put the monitor less than 6 feet away from my listening position but I don't feel that I need it.
Incidentally, one of my buddies bought the 42" the same night he saw my 32". A week later he exchanged it for the 32" because he could see pixels, etc.
