We just stuff the cracks with used potato peelings and sand them down using a frozen Perch. The trick is to get all the sanding done before the frozen fish wakes up. After that, it's more of a texture spackling.

Actually, as mentioned, we call it "seam filling". To be honest, others around here might call it mudding and I just never noticed.

Just for fun, I checked in our phone book. All the drywaller adds mention "seam filling" but no "mudding."

Regional thing for sure.
