The only way to really know is to find a way to set them up temporarily. Use a step ladder or a coffee table with books stacked up etc. When sitting on the couch the speakers should be to your left and right, I see you have a pass through to the kitchen which seems to be your limiting factor. Can you mount the speaker above the opening or put the mount inside the upper part of the opening.
