The Nad does look plenty impressive, its reviews speak quite highly of its room correction technology.

I just read that the Yamahas are able to bi amp themselves through the unused rears, allowing the front sides to gain a more dynamic range. Ive never heard of anything like this before, have you guys seen anything like this previosuly ?

How could you Bi amp a speaker that only has the two bindings? Run the wires in parallel?
You can't without serious surgery on the crossover within the speaker. Typically speakers need to have dual binding posts (one for each portion of the crossover the amp section will drive) to allow this.
