Collective Soul: yes, Atlanta. The other two are actually from Athens, GA. I attended high school in Athens from 1982 - 1986 and was too young to appreciate what was going on around me. It was actually at college that I got into R.E.M. and Guadalcanal Diary, another Athens band and my favorite that never made it big. One of my favorite shows ever is seeing GD one summer ('87 or '88) at the old Uptown Lounge amongst a couple hundred people.
