Hey Chess. I believe the rolling blackouts are a thing of the past as new power plants have come on-line since. The budget crisis is a different story.
Having worked for the state gov't for almost 5 years myself (my wife still works for the state gov't), I can attest to the MASSIVE waste of taxpayer money in this state. Arnold has made moves to cut some of it, but the special interests affected by the cuts screamed. Arnold has now switched to self-preservation mode (or is it pragmatic mode?), moving toward the Democratic majority in the legislature.
Alas, the hopes of the frustrated taxpayers are dashed upon the rocks by self-serving populist demagogues once again. Pretty soon I'll be working until October to pay my taxes (but the rest of the years wages will be all mine, baby!).
