Grunt you seem like a very tech savvy guy. If your PC knowledge is solid I would probably get an X-Rite I1 Display LT and use the free tools on AVS. You can then calibrate for less than $150 which is stellar value for calibration. You can also use it on your Hans-G
Edit: I'm ordering my X-rite soon and using HCFR for calibration. Your projectors setting are available on Amazon. My bulb is at 1000 hours and now I think the calibration is worth it.

I'm not sure about the Epson but my Benq W5000 and his Panny 4000 both have very low input lag (Crucial for gamers). The frame response is nice too but my DLP doesn't really ghost so I don't have any complaints there either.
