I also like the internal amp idea. perhaps that would alleviate the need for a wall wart style power plug and just have a normal three pronged power cable?

Also I agree that if the amps were in the speakers, they'd be just like every other set of computer speakers, and that's boring.

Also I think these are a little more then just your average "computer speakers", at least I'm hoping they are anyways . I plug my computer into my Axiom's via digital coax (to the denon 3805) for a reason, the sound is worlds better then any old computer speaker.

Axiom releasing computer speakers just screams the need for something a little different. Also as I said, if the amp has power / headphone jack on the front, or perhaps a volume knob, you can place that on your desk near your monitor, and put the speakers wherever you like. On stands, on the hutch above your monitor, etc.
