Kodiak, with regards to the DAC in the transformer, it's a single stereo DAC handling both channels. It's not R2R, MQA-capable, dual/balanced/current output/non-oversampling, or whatever is the current flavor of the month. It's an incredibly good sounding DAC and has specifications that are pretty much beyond reproach. If you're interested, it's a PCM5122:

One big benefit of this device is the integrated output stage, meaning no external buffers OR coupling capacitors are required. It's a straight shot from the DAC output through a precision Susumu thin-film resistor, to the RCA jacks.
