Try Jason Turk at AVscience (the guys who started AVS). He’s been great to deal with and you’ll be surprised at their prices for Denon, Marantz. Or, wait for the Sherwood Newcastle HDMI receivers coming out this fall. They look too good to be true, espesially at their MSRP.

Yamaha and Marantz are the only 1.2a receivers out.

Yes, 1.2a supports SACD, but unfortunately, there are NO SACD players that send the data stream as straight DSD (which is what 1.2a supports) over HDMI. They all convert it to PCM. In other words, no SACD players are taking advantage of HDMI 1.2a’s bandwidth capacities over 1.1. There are also very few receivers that except straight DSD from SACD's. Most convert it to PCM. The Marantz will. Not sure what else.

And yes, this is all very confusing, frustrating, and in short, completely unnecessary. Analogue was / is quite capable to carry everything that HDMI will.
