Got my replacement amp today, used it for 6 hours straight this evening, and it only got warm to the touch. So the first one really was just defective.

Now I'm going to have to figure out a way to physically mount the transducer inside my couch. It's OK sitting under the edge of the couch, but everyone says it's much better when it's actually attached.
