Here is the logical thing for you to do:

Go to hear speakers in a store...(the usual suspects, Tweeters, Cicuit City, Best Buy, etc.).

Then, after listening to a variety of "comps" to the Axiom type, and price range...(take your own GOOD cds of course)..see how many, or if any of the speakers demo'd bother your "ear thing".

If not, or only a couple do...then ok, the odds are good...... buy some speakers.

If most do....then sorry, ANY brand of loudspeakers may not be right for you.
