Hi Mojo,

Functionally the Chromecast Audio is able to perform a number of the same functions as AxiomAir, but there are a number of limitations:

Chromecast Audio has no ability to play locally stored music files (USB stick, etc.).
Chromecast Audio needs an existing WiFi network to function. There is no hot-spot capability which AxiomAir has.
Chromecast Audio playback is limited to 24/96, and I have been reading of some issues with it not being bit perfect (i.e. re-sampling data for playback).
