I meant your router's firewall. I'm assuming your laptop and you Galaxy are clients. Can you log onto your router and check 2 things:

1) See what your security is set to (Mine is WPA2-PSK [AES])
2) Make sure your access control is set to allow new devices to connect. Here's a screen shot of what mine looks like:
